I just witnessed some brilliant theater performances this afternoon between the Johnson County ESD and the Johnson County Commissioners Court. Keith Kelly certainly gets Best Male Actor and Jerry Stringer gets Best Supporting Actor. They've always been a great duo, but they outdid themselves today. Everyone memorized their lines and it almost looked like a real meeting.
I was so close to writing something halfway decent about the ESD today. The performance was apparent from the start, but it was at least tolerable. The dog and pony show kicked off right away with the ESD doing their best to demonstrate to the commissioners that they are a wonderful and responsible entity. My lunch continued to stay down even after Keith Kelly got up and began his portion of the presentation. He came so close to getting a good review from me, but he couldn't let things be. He is, after all, Keith Kelly.
Keith had the gall to stand up and talk about how unfortunate it is that there is bad blood between the ESD and the City of Joshua and his hope that someday it would pass. In the next breath he goes on to tell a tale of Joshua refusing to let the ESD put an engine in our station so they had no choice, but to buy land for a station outside our city limits. We are, of course, all evil for only covering our city limits with automatic aid fire response (because the ESD didn't want to compensate us fairly for county response). What I'd like to see is Keith Kelly produce the document that was sent to the City of Joshua requesting bay space in our fire station for an engine. I hope he sends it over promptly so I can send a copy to District Attorney Dale Hanna. Mr. Hanna has recently shown how he handles people that falsify government documents and since such a letter doesn't exist between the ESD and Joshua, Keith Kelly will have difficulty finding a real copy. It was a disagreement on paid staffing that led to Keith Kelly's infamous voicemail message to Joshua Fire Chief Wayne Baker in August 2010, long before the ESD owned any apparatus. Since acquiring a couple engines the ESD has presented nothing to the Joshua City Council to consider housing an engine. What we heard today was Joshua being made a scapegoat for the ESD spending money to acquire more taxpayer funded assets to further the kingdom. Is that the innuendo and rumor you were referring to today, Commissioner Stringer?
As long as Keith Kelly's reprehensible behavior continues to be allowed inside the ESD then they will continue to be a suspect organization. As long as Jerry Stringer remains Commissioner of Precinct 3 then Keith Kelly will remain as well. Jerry Stringer is up for re-election now. I wonder if Keith Kelly is heading up his campaign again this time? Oh and by the way, Alvarado Councilman, Tom Moore, has filed to run against Stringer. Options are good, don't you think?
