After a long wait Brookshire's has finally committed to building their new store in the Joshua Station development. The Joshua Station mixed-use development project began long before my arrival on the city council so a lot of people along the way have contributed to it finally getting off the ground. The project has accelerated over the last couple years with new involvement by Billy Tolson, son of the late Ray Tolson who started the project with the city.
I'm very excited to see the recent interest in the city since getting alcohol sales passed last November. 2012 will be an exciting year to watch the new projects get started and see what's coming next. With the City Council and Type A and B Economic Development Boards all lining up to focus on economic development I think Joshua has many years of excitement on the horizon.
