On April 13th the we the voters of Johnson County, Texas Precinct 2 will decide who will be our next commissioner. The Star Group recently sat down with Commissioner Matthews for a taped interview that identifies very clearly the qualifications and experience he brings to the job.
One of the most important things to consider is the regional work that John does on behalf of Johnson County with his leadership positions on the Tarrant Regional Transportation Coalition and the North Central Texas Council of Governments. These are positions that do not come with the County Commissioners job so our communities would stand to lose a very direct voice in the planning and implementation of transportation systems and infrastructure in our region if John Matthews is not re-elected as commissioner.
I've had the opportunity to get to know John during my time on the Joshua City Council and I have found him to be engaging, responsive and clearly showing an interest in the betterment of our communities. I encourage you to vote for our current commissioner, John Matthews.
