EPA: Rogue Agency

The Environmental Protection Agency has apparently become it's own self-ruling sovereign nation with power greater than that of the United States, it's former keeper. In it's latest doomsday message the Obama administration is now blackmailing congress and the nation to pass climate change control legislation or else the EPA will take a "command and control" approach leaving even more uncertainty to economic fallout.

There once was a time when the checks and balances afforded to us in our Constitution would not allow any governmental body to become so powerful as to circumvent the will of the people and impose regulations and consequences. Apparently that time has passed. Yet again the administration talks in circles and assumes we're not smart enough to understand what is going on. These sleight of hand card tricks are getting old and people are catching on.

With Cap and Trade now stalled in the Senate Obama is getting worried that his poll numbers in other countries will start going down so he has to take more aggressive action. The EPA has deemed CO2 dangerous thus giving itself the power to regulate it. Being that most of our transportation and energy infrastructure produces CO2 you can see where a small partisan appointed group could become dangerous. Apparently their power is out of anyone's control, even the White House, since officials are now threatening that if congress doesn't take care of things then the EPA will. But wait a minute. If the EPA already has the power to take care of this then why would Senate action make a difference? And if the Congress doesn't pass something that is pleasing to the all powerful EPA will they take further action on their own?

I'm not sure when the EPA became a branch of government, but I don't like it and I'll work hard to replace those in our government who seek to weaken this nation with such overreaching authority. It begins next year. Find a candidate that mirrors your ideals and back them with all the support you can. If you can't find someone you like then run for office yourself.
