Senator Harry Reid went on record today comparing our senate Republicans who oppose the Democrat suggested takeover of health care to those who opposed the abolishment of slavery during the civil war and the enactment of civil rights legislation in the 1960's.
Really Harry? Is that what the conversation has come to? I guess "conversation" isn't really an appropriate term to use though since you're the only one talking. There's no real debate and bipartisan development of a bill. It's the Democrat way or the highway. The mainstream media continues to support our liberal progressive leadership majority in shoving down our throats a single solution to health care reform.
Why is it that the liberals don't want to start with things that would make a huge difference without ballooning the deficit and putting the cost on the backs of the already overtaxed? Why not reform our medical malpractice lawsuits? Why not allow interstate competition of insurance providers? Why not enact legislation to eliminate pre-existing conditions from underwriting qualifications? Why not make all health care expenses tax deductible for all Americans? With some insurance industry reform, trial lawyer reform, tax code reform and improved commerce allowances we could put a huge dent in the need. Why is it not acceptable to start there and measure the impact before continuing with more invasive maneuvers? Because there's not enough opportunity for personal gain, by those who want to control our lives that's why. How can one get the votes to stay in Washington if they don't control the people? That's a question they just can't figure out. There will be some freshman congressmen next year who will show them.
Our country is being hijacked by power-hungry elitists who have overstayed their welcome. Most of them have a "D" after their name, but a lot of the "R's" have to go too. The clock is ticking to 11/02/10.
