I've been off the campaign trail for a couple weeks with the rain we've had recently and getting my taxes finished up, but with nice weather this week I'll be hard at it again. Today I enjoyed a walk through most the Joshua "old town" neighborhoods east of the train tracks. I didn't think I'd be able to cover as much ground as I did, but once I get out there I have a good time and it becomes a challenge to get one more street done.
As with all the other days I've been out knocking on doors I met some nice people again today who are excited about my run for a seat on the council. If one thing is certain it's that people want to be heard and feel like they have not been previously. I'm sure, like me, that sentiment doesn't only come from local experience, but rather from the U.S. political landscape at large. I hope I can help shift that back to the way our founders intended. One cannot effectively represent those who elected them if they do not talk and listen to their constituents. It's really pretty simple.
